About

“Who are you and what do you do?”

My name is Kyle Bareis and I have been in IT since 2004. I started out at a Mom and Pop shop building, fixing, and repairing Windows PC’s during college. Then started working for the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire in their IT department. At UWEC, I worked at the Help Desk, Mac Desktop Support, and later was the student supervisor for the Help Desk and BITS training staff. Fast forward a few years, and now I work as a Systems Engineer for JAMF Software, the makers of the Casper Suite. My day-to-day conversations revolve around deployment and management of Apple Devices from 20 to 20,000 devices. If you wish to be part of my professional network, please go to my LinkedIn page. I also occasionally Tweet from my Twitter account @kbareis.

“Why did I build a website?”

My intention with my weblog is to write about topics of interest and document workflows for the Apple IT crowd (with a sprinkle of web design from time to time). Being an Apple IT person used to be something of a niche. Usually the person assisting or managing Apple devices was a former power user (usually from some sort of Art, Design, Theater, or Music background). However, as Apple has gained in consumer popularity, Apple devices in the enterprise have made in roads. The problem being: not enough folks in IT know Apple best practices. I want to help by making this knowledge accessible and freely available.
